This mostly scenic tour will offer you a great opportunity to touch the northern soil where one of the world’s strongest waterfalls originates (Murchison Falls) with a variety of fauna to the unique Chimps of Kibale & the stunning scenery of “a medley of wonders” with tree climbing lions. DAY 1: ARRIVAL & TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be received by a member of our team who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Arrive at the hotel & stay at leisure while enjoying the cool breeze of Lake Victoria.

DAY 2: MURCHISON FALLS N. P VIA ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

Journey time: 5–6hrs

Depart Kampala very early for Murchison Falls National Park: Optional Activity

  • En-route to Masindi 3 hours’ drive out of Kampala, take a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track Rhinos before proceeding to the National Park.

Upon entrance into the park, visit the top of the falls; here you will spot a permanent rainbow right from the top as you feel the loud sound of the waterfall.

The view is rewarding as it explains why Murchison Falls is famously known as one of the world’s strongest waterfalls. And soon after experiencing the perfect scenery, proceed to the ferry dock and crossover to access your lodge so as check in and enjoy your leisure.

DAY 3: GAME DRIVE AND LAUNCH CRUISEON THE NILE

After an early breakfast, you will have a game drive through the delta circuit, reputably known for high concentrations of wildlife. This 4-5 hour game drive will reward you with stunning views of the savanna and other plant vegetation of the acacia and borassus palm trees propagated by elephants all the way from Congo.

Expect a wide variety of wildlife including;Lions, hippos, waterbucks, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hyenas, oribis, Uganda Kobs, baboons and patasmonkeys and many more.Take a stop at the Nile Delta where you will view Hippos cooling off in the water, and have some photos around the bank.Later on, drive back to the lodge and enjoy your lunch.

Thereafter, next is an afternoon launch cruise on the Nile; offering you a chance to experience a variety of wildlife as you enjoy the stunning views along the world’s longest river. In addition to taking you close to the base of the waterfall, the 3 hour launch trip follows a stretch of the Nile with a compelling African atmosphere. Game viewing is excellent where you will expect;

  • Hippos in their hundreds
  • The Nile crocodiles
  • Small herds of buffalo, waterbuck, and kob

DAY 4: MURCHISON FALLS TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Journey time: 6hrs: 55mins

Early in the morning, after your breakfast, you will depart for Kibale National Park with your lunch stopover in Hoima.

Kibale National Park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of the tropical rain forest in Uganda. Forest cover, interspersed with patches of grassland and swamp, dominates the northern and central parts of the park on an elevated plateau. Upon your arrival you will drive straight to your Lodge and recuperate from the long journey.

DAY 5: EXPLORE THE ‘’World’s Primate Capital’’

Kibale is famously known for Chimpanzee tracking.The park is home to a total of 70 mammal species, of which 13 species are primates including the chimpanzee, with over 375 bird species.

On this day you will take part in Chimpanzee trackingwhere you will have an exclusive experience of the chimps plus many more primates which include but not limited to the following; Ugandan mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, de brazza’s monkey, redcolobus monkey, black & white colobus monkey, blue monkeys, baboons and many more varied types of primates right within this amazing conservation area. In addition to the primate experience, you will also spot a variety of birds especially the great blue turaco, African hobby, Black kite, Swamp flycatcher, Scarlet-chested bird, Grey-crowned crane, Herons, Weaver birds, White-tailed blue monad, African harrier hawk, Egrets, White-headed saw-wing bird, Red-chested sunbirds and many more endemics.

DAY 6: KIBALE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Journey time: 2hrs: 45mins 

Queen Elizabeth National Park is famous for diverse ecosystems which include sprawling savannah, shady humid forests, sparkling lakes, wetlands and amazing craters. Ideal for big game, primate species to include Chimps and over 600 bird species. It has superb scenic views of Kazinga Channel, the Rwenzori Mountains and crater lakes which are home to a wide variety of birds.

After your breakfast enjoy a leisurely morning, and later on start off your journey to ‘’a medley of wonders’’. On arrival after a stopover at the equator, you will check into your lodge for lunch, refreshment and leisure.

DAY 7: EXPLORE QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Start off the day with a tasty breakfast and then get deeper into the highlights of this amazing park. Dawn Game Drive; explore the park’s flora and fauna to include elusive bird species and a wide variety of animals like elephants, buffaloes, hippos, impalas, waterbucks,  Kobs, warthogs and many more. Don’t miss out the scenic views of the crater lakes like Nyamunuka which is medicinal to the animals.

Katwe Community; discover the people and their culture where you will learn about salt mining by the local means from Lake Katwe and interact with the local people and share cultural experiences. After here, return to your lodge for a lunch and leisure in preparations for the afternoon activities.

Launch cruise; this is the main activity after lunch where you will spot a number of birds like; the African fish eagle, pelicans, flamingos, Hammerkop, egrets, the African fin foot, pied kingfishers, marabou storks, vultures, kites and many more, together with animals like hippos, buffalos, warthogs, crocodiles, waterbucks and more as most of them visit to water and cool off. This boat cruise is spiced up with stunning views of the Mweya peninsular and a local fishing village along the lake shores. Visit Mweya Museum; after the boat cruise, with this visit you will learn more about the parks history, animals, physical features (crater lakes formation) together with the parks future prospects. DAY 8: TRAVEL TO BWINDI VIA ISHASHA SECTOR

Journey time: 4 hrs: 25mins 

After breakfast and a leisurely morning, you will have a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Southerly Ishasha Sector. On arrival, check into your lodge and recuperate from the journey.

Encounter the Tree climbing lions;this is the most captivating experience in Ishasha, thus its popularity in the entre national park. Tree climbing lions that reside up in the acacia and fig trees are spotted each and every time hanging up in the trees, as they try avoid tsetse fly and other ground insects’ bites, and they usually enjoy their prey high up in the trees.

In addition to the tree climbing lions other animals are seen here including; elephants, buffalos, antelopes, Uganda Kob, impalas, waterbucks, warthogs, and elands among others. So spend enough time here for a wonderful experience.

Thereafter proceed with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving for lunch & the rest of the day at leisure.

At 331 sq.km, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to half the world’s mountain gorillas, over 346 bird species, 202 butterfly species, 400 plant species, 63 tree species, 120 mammal species & 27 frog species. Here is the chance to meet and interact with the shortest people (Batwa) of the mountains.

DAY 9: GORILLA TRACKING DAY WITH OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing at exactly 8:00am and tracking will commence in the next 30 min after registration and briefing by the ranger guides.

Gorilla tracking is a very captivating and unforgettable experience which more than repays the effort needed to reach Bwindi. This starts at 8:30am and can last a few hours to a whole day depending on where the gorillas were left the previous day. After gorilla tracking, return to your lodge and have your lunch.

In the evening you may opt for a community tour (optional) where you will meet and interact with the shortest people (Batwa) of the mountains; learn about their way of life such as; hunting skills, medicinal knowledge, child upbringing, cuisines, art and crafts and many more interesting aspects.

DAY 10: SCENIC JOURNEY TO THE MAGICAL LAKE BUNYONYI

Journey time: 2 hrs: 15mins 

After checking out of your Lodge, start off your journey to the most scenic Lake Bunyonyi, this journey comprises the beautiful views of Kisoro’s green hills.Upon arrival get to your lodge, check in and enjoy your lunch.

Then after lunch enjoy a community/nature walk with visits to;

  • The terraced gardens at Lake Bunyonyi as you hike.
  • Birding is awesome here, explore the unique birds of this pristine area.
  • Bakora cave & the Abaheesi (traditional Blacksmiths)
  • Visit a local market, homesteads & local schools around Lake Bunyonyi.

DAY 11: EXPLORE BUNYONYI TO LAKE MBURO N. PARK

Journey time: 3hrs–30mins

After breakfast, you will get involved in a yet another adventurous experience which includes:

  • Dug-out canoeing; explore the 29 Islands of Lake Bunyonyi together with guided nature walks.
  • Visit the historical Islands of Akampene (punishment Island), Bwama &Njubeera Island (Sharp’s Island)
  • Akampene (Punishment Island):This was used by the Bakiga; as a punishment to unmarried pregnant girls by way of leaving them on this Island to die of hunger or while swimming to the mainland as few people knew how to swim. The main reason was to serve as a lesson to the rest from doing the same thing. So, a man without bride price (cows) would go to the Island & pick up a girl.
  • Bwama & Njubeera Island (Sharp’s Island):Leonard Sharp, an English missionary, settled on this Island in 1921 & opened up a Leprosy Treatment Center in 1931 on Bwama Island while having his residence on Njubeera Island.

Return to your lodge for lunch and refreshment followed by a check out. Then immediatelystart off your journey to Lake Mburo National Park.

Lake Mburo National Park is conveniently located close to the KampalaMbarara highway, with varied wildlife in the middle of an extensive rich acacia woodland. It is home to over 332 bird species including the rare African fin foot, shoebill, papyrus gonolek, yellow warbler, saddle billed stork, brown chested wattle, plover among others. Upon arrival in the evening, spend the rest of the day at leisure while at the lodge.

DAY 12: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE IN LAKE MBURO

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will go for your game drive in the woodland acacia. Expect a variety of flora and fauna which includes zebras, Roth’s child giraffes, elephants, elands, wart hogs, topis, Kobs and by chance some leopards. Here is a chance to spot some rare bird species which include water and swamp birds like Papyrus gonolek, Yellow Warbler, Saddle-billed Stork,Cisticola,White-winged Warbler, Crested Crane and many more. Visit the salt licksand watch animals licking natural saltto supplement their diet while at a viewing platform.

After your game drive you will return to your lodge and stay at leisure with lunch in progress.

After lunch take a boat cruisewill take you close to the rich flora and fauna of Lake Mburo. And along the shores, you will spot a variety of animals that come to water and cool off, thus suitable during the afternoon.

These include hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, buffaloes, and over 3 types of otters that are found in the lake. The birds to expect also include but not limited to Malachite Kingfishers, African Fish Eagle, Blue HeadedWeavers, Rufous, and Long Tailed Starlings, Pied kingfishers, Hammerkop, Herons, Pelicans, the rare Shoebill Stork as well as the cormorants and hadada ibis. Here is another opportunity to view the crocodiles as well as hippos in their hundreds.
