Mida Creek Lagoon – Watamu

A magical lagoon with its internationally renowned birdlife of local flamingos and European Migratory birds that come during the winter.

Mtwapa Creek

An Indian Ocean inlet with small marinas and beautifultropical vegetation. The creek is famous for bird watching, mountain bike tours and deep sea fishing. Also famous for its clubs and active nightlife.

Is the biggest of its kind in East Africa providing complete family experience of fun in the water, land and air.

H2O Extreme (Diani Beach)

Considered one of the world’s beast beaches, this palm- fringed beach stretches for 20km and is free of sea weed. Its white sand and turquoise warm waters offer ideal conditions for kite surfing.

Sky Dive Diani

This is the only permanent sky diving club in Kenya that offers tandem skydives and courses led by an enthusiastic international team. Go get this experience of a lifetime while enjoying the breathtaking coastline view.

Mama Ngina Drive

The scenic sea front along Mama Ngina Drive is 3km long and one of the most breathtaking parks found in the high humid Mombasa Island. It’s a popular picnic site where you can enjoy the manicured gardens and watch huge ships sail in and out of the port.

Uhuru Gardens

Located in the city center the serene gardens with a large fig tree are where the Union Jack was brought down and the Kenyan Flag hoisted for thevery first time. It’s a very significant monument in Kenya’s independence struggle.

Culture and sightseeing

Fort Jesus

Built in 1593 by the Portuguese, was later used by the Arabs as     toured rooms and prison cells for slaves in captivity before being shipped away.

Lamu Fort

Built between 1813 and 1821 and show cases exquisite Swahili style architecture, houses a library and environmental museum.

Riyadha Mosque

This mosque is the center of Maulidi Festival which held to celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed every year and attracts pilgrims from other cities and towns in East Africa. Other fun activities include dhow racing, donkey racing, local exhibitions and performances.

Ngomomgo Villages

Theme pack show casing the original way of life of rural communities.

Old Town Mombasa

Part of Mombasa and is reminiscent of life under Arab rule. It is well known for ancient buildings, extravagant art designs and curio shops that sell antique and popular Kenyan Souvenirs. Best explored by foot.

Bombolulu Workshops

Located along the North Coast of Mombasa. Founded in 1969, it’s a major tourist attraction with a cultural center showcasing 8 traditional homesteads. Enjoy a traditional meal at the restaurant accompanied by traditional dances and musical performances.

Akamba Handcraft Cooperative

This non-profit cooperative manufactures and exports woodcarvings, animal sculptures, decorative accessories and customized crafts.

Mombasa Tusks

The Tusks were built in 1956 to celebrate Princess Margaret’s visit to Mombasa. A landmark of the city, they are not made of ivory as is sometimes thought but of aluminum. The tusks form dual archways over each side of the road creating the shape of an “M” for Mombasa or Margaret.

SAFARIS:

Tsavo West National & Tsavo East National Parks

Popularly known as the land of lava springs and man eating lions, the park is also a home for the iconic Mzima springs with crystal clear waters. Expect to see lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, buffalos, rhinos, elephants and giraffes.

Mombasa Marine National Park

Home to a variety of marine life like crab, sea urchin, sea cucumber, and starfish. It also has sandy beaches and coral gardens. Other activities include snorkeling and diving.

Haller Park

Located in the city’s Bamburi area which was an abandoned quarry reclaimed and turned into an ecological paradise with a variety of wildlife and plant life. Its beautiful nature trails are ideal for long strolls or cycling.

Mamba Village

The best place to see crocodiles in East Africa. Consists of scenic walkways, fish ponds, botanical gardens, Snake Park, aquarium and horse riding area.

Mombasa Butterfly House
