DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KIGALI& TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL

DAY 2: KIGALI CITY TOUR & GENOCIDE MEMORIAL, TRANSFER TO UGANDA

Journey Time: 4 hrs: 45min

On this day after breakfast, you will have a tour of Kigali, with visits to Kigali genocide memorial site. This site provided an opportunity to offer a place in which the bereaved could bury their families and friends, and over 250,000 victims are now buried at the site.

This site also includes three permanent exhibitions, the largest of which documents the genocide in 1994. There is also a children’s memorial, and an exhibition on the history of genocidal violence around the world. The Education Centre, Memorial Gardens and National Documentation Centre of the Genocide all contribute to a meaningful tribute to those who perished, and form a powerful educational tool for the next generation.

Thereafter, will start your journey to Kisoro in Uganda via the Cyanika Boarder. On arrival you will go for the Batwa Pygmy Experience. You can read more about it by clicking the link below.

DAY 3: GORILLA TRACKING DAY | OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing at exactly 8:00am. Gorilla tracking is a very captivating and unforgettable experience which more than repays the effort needed to reach Bwindi. This starts at 8:30am and can last a few hours to a whole day depending on where the gorillas were left the previous day.

DAY 4: TRAVEL TO LAKE MBURO NATIONALPARK

Journey Time: 5 hrs: 10min

In the morning after your breakfast, leave Kisoro for Lake Mburo National Park amidst scenic views of the west.

Upon arrival, enjoy your lunch and later go for a boat trip on Lake Mburo. This will take you close to the rich flora and fauna of Lake Mburo. And along the shores, you will spot a variety of animals that come to water and cool off, thus suitable during the afternoon.

In the evening, you will go for your game drive in the woodland acacia. Expect a variety of flora and fauna which includes zebras, Roth’s child giraffes, elephants, elands, wart hogs, topi, Kob and by chance some leopards. Here is a chance to spot some rare bird species which include water and swamp birds like Papyrus gonolek, Yellow Warbler, Saddle-billed Stork, Cisticola, White-winged Warbler, Crested Crane and many more. Visit the salt licks and watch animals licking natural salt to supplement their diet while at a viewing platform.

DAY 5: GAME DRIVE AND DEPARTURE TO KAMPALA

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will go for your game drive in the woodland acacia. Expect a variety of flora and fauna which includes zebras, Roth’s child giraffes, elephants, elands, wart hogs, topi, kob and by chance some leopards. Here is a chance to spot some rare bird species which include water and swamp birds like Papyrus gonolek, Yellow Warbler, Saddle-billed Stork,Cisticola,White-winged Warbler, Crested Crane and many more. Visit the salt licksand watch animals licking natural saltto supplement their diet while at a viewing platform.

After your game drive you will depart to Kampala and have a lunch stop over enroute.

Make a stopover at the equator in Masaka; for a photo opportunity. After this equator moment, proceed to Kampala city and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 6: MORNING FLIGHT ENTEBBE-MASAI MARA

You will head to the airport for your flight to Masai Mara in Kenya aboard Aero link/Air Kenya.

On arrival you will be transferred to the lodge in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure.

In the evening, you will go for a game drive.

DAY 7: FULL DAY IN MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Breakfast at the lodge &depart for a full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes or enjoy morning &afternoon game drives in Masai Mara Game Reserve with lunch break in between the game drives.

Masai Mara Game Reserve: The Land of Big Cat Diary & Disney’s African Cats, is considered a “must see” for any new & repeat visitor traveling on a safari to Kenya. Masai Mara is the best place to see the “Big Five” animals (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo).

Home of the Great Wildebeest Migration:The location of the ’Annual Great Wildebeest Migration’ – one of the natural wonders of the world – is a gloriously beautiful, wildlife-rich savannah landscape.

The annual wildebeest migration from June to October consists of over 1.5 million wildebeests, gazelle, gnus & Zebras roar converge at the border of Tanzania’s Serengeti & Kenya’s Masai Mara at River Mara. Those that survive crocodiles & raging waters cross over to the waiting predators like hyenas, jackals, leopards & lions for the next survival battle.

Wildlife;The Mara is known as one of the finest wildlife destinations in the World. There is an excellent chance of seeing the Big 5, cheetah, serval, hyena, black-backed and side-striped jackals, hippo, crocodile, baboons, warthog, eland, Thompson’s gazelle, Grant’s etc.

Optional Masai Mara Balloon Ride: For those going for the balloon safari, you will be going for the early morning balloon, you will be picked at the hotel by the team at 5.30am & drive to the balloon launch site where you will gather for takeoff. After approximately one hour aloft, the balloon lands while a breakfast is being prepared for you nearby.

DAY 8: MASAI MARA TO NOTHERN SERENGETI

After an early breakfast, leave the lodge heading to Isibania Boarder.

Upon arrival at Isibania – Tanzania and Kenya boarder, you will be handed over to your Tanzanian Guide who will assist you in acquiring a Tanzania Visa. Thereafter, you will proceed to the northern Serengeti with game drive en-route to the park, and later on drive to your tented camp for leisure, dinner and overnight.

DAY 9: NORTHERN SERENGETI TO CENTRAL SERENGETI.

Today you will do another game drive as you head to Central Serengeti.

DAY 10: SERENGETI TO ZANZIBAR ISLAND

Have an early breakfast at the hotel & be transferred to the airport for your flight Zanzibar Island. There are few such evocative names as Zanzibar, the island that is part of Tanzania and lies about 20 miles off the coast near Dar es Salaam.

Reaching Zanzibar Island will offer you an opportunity to discover all the historical aspects of the Island.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 11: TOUR OF ZANZIBAR ISLAND

DAY 12: AT LEISURE OR EXPLORE OPTIONAL ACIVITIES

Spend this day at leisure; simply stay back at your lodge to enjoy the cool breeze of the coast or go explore some optional activities.

Optional activities to choose from at leisure include:

Tour of Jambiani Village(a fishermen village on the East coast of Zanzibar). Learn about the history of the village &visit a traditional herbalist (explore the local herbs & their uses), a tour local organic plantation on coral stone, where farmers cultivate under difficult circumstances, & seaweed farms run by women. This is an opportunity to learn about the unique culture and the diverse environment of Zanzibar’s villages and to meet the friendly Swahili people.

Zanzibar Dolphin Tour (best done in the afternoon); Visit Kizimkazi (southern point of the island), a home to several schools of bottle-nosed dolphins & Humpback dolphins, sighted following a short boat trip from the village.
